Organizer: Lions Club of West Kowloon Co-organizers: The Parents' Association of Pre-school Handicapped Children (West Kowloon District), Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong Activity Duration: 3 months *Activity background: -During the epidemic, the treatment and rehabilitation training of half of the children with special learning were affected by the suspension of classes, causing more children to have symptoms such as insufficient concentration. Suspension of classes and restrictions on the living environment have severely affected children's physical, psychosocial, cognitive and mental health, and even their relationships with family members. *Theme of the activity: 1) Through the music therapy training group, professional music therapists use music as a medium to help children/adolescents with special learning needs(SEN) to effectively express their emotions in emotional management and learning; improve their concentration and cognitive skills; to learn effective communication skills And expression skills to improve social relations. 2) The plan is to allow children/youths with special learning needs and local youth volunteers to participate. By conducting music therapy groups to get to know each other and build friendships, on the one hand, the social skills of youths with special learning needs can be improved and applied in practice; on the other hand, youth volunteers through activities, will gain a deeper understanding of children/youths with special learning needs(SEN) and pass the correct information to the peers around them, so as to reduce the misunderstanding and prejudice of the society towards children/youths with special learning needs(SEN). *Activity goal: 1) Youth Volunteer Training Course: -Let young volunteers understand the characteristics and communication skills of children/youths with special educational needs, so as to help them build relationships with children/youths with special educational needs in the activities. 2) Music therapy training group: -Children/youths with special learning needs participate in many music therapy training activities with youth volunteers in the district youth center to broaden their social circle and peer support network; at the same time, through the personal participation of young volunteers, to get to know children with special learning needs/ Young people, get more understanding and support. -Strengthen the training of students' visual, auditory, tactile and self-management abilities through a variety of activities to help students improve their concentration and organization; learn to use musical instruments to express themselves and communicate with others, thereby enhancing their expression skills And social skills. 3) Sharing Session and Appreciation Ceremony: - Families of children/youths with special educational needs and youth volunteers share their feelings and issue certificates of appreciation to promote the message of community inclusiveness. 4) Release of service evaluation report: -Share the learning situation of SEN school children observed during the service period and their interaction with volunteers, so as to review and improve the quality of similar services in the future.
