Lions Citywide Dementia-Friendly Program

In Hong Kong, one out of every ten people aged 70 or above suffers from dementia. The prevalence of 85-year-olds is as high as one-third Lions Club of West Kowloon (a member of the Social Welfare Department's Alliance for Resilience) teamed up with Mongkok District Senior Police Call and responds to the Social Welfare Department's "City-wide Dementia-friendly Campaign" and jointly hosted Caring Lion "Dementia Friends Hong Kong" briefing session (presented by recognized and qualified Dementia friendly ambassadors) Limited seats, Lions with priority Participants registered as "Dementia friends Hong Kong" after completing the one and a half hour briefing session. Objectives: (1). Change the public's misconceptions about dementia impairment and eliminate negative labels; (2). Relying on peer influence to convey relevant information, to infect others to correctly and positively understand dementia, and to take action to care and support patients and their families; (3). Through the change of mentality, take actions to care for and support the needs of patients and their families; (4). Gather the power of the public to create a dementia friendly and dementia barrier-free Hong Kong.
